How to say “a time” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَهُنَاكَ حِيْنٌ اِسْتَكْمَلَ الْعَقْلُ
Then there came a time when the intellect reached completion.
حِين — a time. A noun of time, 'a moment/time', left indefinite, its tanwin ending marking that indefiniteness, 'a certain time'. It anchors the closing statement in a point at which the intellect came to fullness. Indefinite here gives the unspecified 'there was a time when'.
