'Aad denied, so how was My punishment and My warnings?
عَادٌ — 'Aad. Placed after its verb in normal Arabic order, this proper name is the real doer of the denying and stands in the plain subject ending. Though grammatically treated as feminine for agreement, it names the tribe as the one who rejected.
