Arabic vocabulary
How to say “above” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنَّمَا رَفْعُهُ إِلَى فَوْقِ يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى التَّكَلُّفِ
Rather, raising it upward requires deliberate effort.
فَوْقِ — above. A place-noun ('above') in the genitive because the preposition 'to' governs it. With the preposition it forms 'upward', the goal of the raising; its indefinite shape keeps it general rather than one fixed point.
