Arabic vocabulary
مَقْبُولُ is how you say “acceptable” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَالْأَفْكَارِ الْمُتَهَافِتَةِ لَدَيْهِمْ هُوَ الْفَاضِلُ الْمَقْبُولُ،
And to them, flimsy, crumbling ideas are considered excellent and acceptable.
الْمَقْبُولُ — the acceptable,. The passive participle 'the accepted', made definite and coordinated as a second predicate beside 'the excellent'. As a passive participle it casts the ideas as things that GET accepted, the receivers of approval, completing the ironic verdict that they pass as fine and acceptable.
