How to say “excellent” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالْأَفْكَارِ الْمُتَهَافِتَةِ لَدَيْهِمْ هُوَ الْفَاضِلُ الْمَقْبُولُ،
And to them, flimsy, crumbling ideas are considered excellent and acceptable.
الْفَاضِلُ — the excellent. A participle, 'the excellent one', made definite and used as the predicate, what the flimsy ideas are claimed to BE in that group's eyes. Sitting after the linking pronoun, it completes the equation 'X is the excellent'. It names the false high status assigned to them.
