Arabic vocabulary
How to say “afflict/encounter” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وسيصيب آخرها بلاء وأمور تنكرونها،
and its end will face trials and matters you will deny.
وَسَيُصِيبُ — and will face. This is wa- (and) joined to the future marker plus the verb, so the prefixes stack to mean 'and will strike'. Arabic builds the future by attaching a short marker to the present verb rather than using a separate word like 'will'; the 'it' doer is inside the form, and the verb leads its subject as Arabic word order allows.
