قَالَ أَحْيَةُ هِيَ ؟
He said, "Is she Ahiya?"
أَحْيَةُ — Ahiya. This word opens a yes/no question with a built-in question a- meaning 'is...?', fused to the rest. Its grammatical job is to flip the following statement into an interrogative, asking whether the described state holds. So it sets the whole clause up as a question rather than an assertion.
