Al-Junayd said, and I became aware.
الْجُنَيْدُ — Al-Junayd. A proper name made definite by 'al-' as part of the name, standing in the subject case as the doer of 'said'. The subject-case ending marks him as the speaker resuming the frame. It names who is narrating the close of the report.
