How to say “I became aware” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ الْجُنَيْدُ فَإِنْتَبَهْتُ
Al-Junayd said, and I became aware.
فَإِنْتَبَهْتُ — and I became aware. Joins the connector 'fa-' to a past verb carrying a first-person '-tu' as subject, meaning to come awake or alert, 'so I awoke'. The 'fa-' here marks the result, 'so then I woke'. The built-in suffix supplies the 'I', closing the dream-account.
