How to say “al-Qasim” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَبَقِيَ عَلَى أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ،
And he remained with Abu al-Qasim,
الْقَاسِمِ — al-Qasim. A definite proper name serving as the second, owning half of the 'father of ...' title begun by the previous word, so it sits in the 'of' (genitive) form. Together the two words name one person. Its case is set by its role inside that name-pair, not by anything in the wider sentence.
