Arabic vocabulary
How to say “be glad” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَتْ خَدِيجَةُ كَلَّا أَبْشِرْ،
Khadijah said, "No, be glad."
أَبْشِرْ — be glad. A command form aimed straight at the listener, the addressee carried in the command shape itself; in its 'cause to' pattern it means 'receive good news'. So it is a bare imperative reassuring him.
