Arabic vocabulary
How to say “be made easy” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنْ لَمْ تُسَهَّلْ، تَرَكُوهَا
And if it was not made easy, they left it!
تُسَهَّلْ — be made easy. This is the passive form, so prayer is the thing not made easy rather than the doer. On top of that, the negator before it has clipped it into the jussive shape, the trimmed ending Arabic uses after this kind of negation. So two things stack here: the passive flips the roles, and the jussive marks it as governed by 'did not'.
