Arabic vocabulary
How to say “become pleased” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَعُرِفَ سَيِّدُهُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ صَدَقَ فَطَابَتْ نَفْسُهُ
Then his master realized that he had been truthful, and his soul was pleased.
فَطَابَتْ — so became pleased. The connector 'fa-' (so/then) on a past verb of becoming-pleased, subject built in. Here 'fa-' marks the natural result, his pleasure following from the realisation. The doer is inside the verb; the feeling-subject is named next.
