Arabic vocabulary
How to say “being entrenched” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالْتَمَكُّنَ مِنَ الذُنُوبِ،
and being entrenched in sins,
وَالْتَمَكُّنَ — and being entrenched. This single word packs the linking 'and' (wa-) onto a verbal noun, the kind of noun Arabic builds from a verb to name the act itself ('being entrenched' rather than 'he is entrenched'). Because it is a noun, not a finite verb, it sits in a list of states being described rather than narrating an event, and the wa- ties it to the items listed alongside it.
