Arabic vocabulary
How to say “came” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مثل ما روي عن أبي حمزة الصوفي أنه وقع في بئر فجاء رجلان فَطمّاها،
Like the story narrated about Abu Hamza al-Sufi, who fell into a well, and then two men came and filled it up.
فَجاءَ — so he came. The opening particle marks the next event in sequence, and the verb carries its 'he' subject: 'then... came'. Arabic links the steps of a story with this connector, here ordering 'and then two men came'.
