How to say “chest” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَنَأَى بِصَدْرِهِ نَحْوَهَا
Then he turned his chest toward her.
بصَدْرِهِ — with his chest. This is the preposition 'with' fused to a noun and an attached possessive pronoun: 'with his chest'. The preposition introduces the means by which he turned, and the suffix supplies the owner, so one word bundles relationship, noun, and possessor, all in the genitive that the preposition requires.
