Arabic vocabulary
How to say “courage” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقِيلَ الْصَّبْرُ شَجَاعَةُ الْنَّفْسِ
It has been said that patience is the courage of the soul.
شَجَاعَةُ — courage. A noun ('courage') serving as the predicate of the verbless sentence ('patience IS courage'), and the head of an 'of' pairing with the next word. No verb 'to be' links them - Arabic simply juxtaposes subject and comment.
