How to say “crafty” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَلِلنِّسَاءِ حَبَائِلُ الشَّيْطَانِ الْمَكَّارِ،
Among women, and for women, are the snares of the crafty devil.
الْمَكَّارِ — the crafty. Carries al- ('the') and is a describing word for the devil — 'the crafty'. As an adjective it follows its noun and copies its definiteness and genitive case, which is why it too is definite and genitive. It sharpens the picture of the snare-setter as cunning.
