How to say “date” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أن رجلاً اشترى دبسًا عسل التمر من السوق،
A man bought date molasses from the market,
عَسَلَ — (date. This stands in apposition to 'molasses', renaming it 'date-honey', so it takes the same accusative -a as the noun it explains. It then heads an 'of' chain with 'the dates' that follows.
