How to say “death” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيَنْسَى أَنَّ الْمَوْتَ قَدْ يُبَاغِتُ
And he forgets that death may come suddenly.
الْمَوْتَ — death. The al- marks this as definite, 'death' as the known certainty, and it takes the object (accusative) ending because the emphatic 'that' particle before it forces its subject into that form. Its ending is the grammatical sign that it belongs under that particle.
