Arabic vocabulary
How to say “deceptive” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَآمَالُهُ كَاذِبَةً غُرْورًا،
And his hopes are false and deceptive.
غُرْورًا — deceptive. An indefinite noun used adverbially, 'in delusion / deceptively', intensifying the falseness just stated. Its accusative ending marks this adverbial role, the manner in which the hopes are false. Arabic often drops such a bare accusative noun in to colour how something is so.
