Arabic vocabulary
How to say “disobedient” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَكَانَ عَاقًّا سَيِّئًا الْطِّبَاعِ،
He was disobedient and of bad character.
عَاقًّا — disobedient. This is a describing word completing the 'he was ...' frame, so it names the state the previous verb sets up. Its accusative ending is exactly what that state-verb requires of its complement. It attaches the trait to the man as a settled condition rather than a one-off action.
