How to say “donkey” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قال فلماذا مت حمارتي؟
He said, 'Then why did my donkey die?'
حِمَارَتِي — my donkey. The one that died, 'my she-donkey', with the speaker's 'my' attached as a suffix. As the doer it takes the subject ending, and the feminine noun is why the verb wore its feminine mark; one word carries noun and owner.
