Arabic vocabulary
How to say “examine” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مَا لَا يَعْرِفُهُ مَنْ لَمْ يَطَّلِعْ،
What a person who has not examined it does not know,
يَطَّلِعْ — examine it. The verb governed by the preceding negator, taking the clipped jussive ending that negator forces and reading as past, 'has not looked into'. The shortened ending is the visible sign the negator controls it. Its carried-in subject is the unnamed 'whoever' just introduced.
