Arabic vocabulary
بِسَاطٍ is how you say “expanse” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَلَا تَغْتَرَّْ بِسَعَةِ بِسَاطٍ الْحُلْمِ؛
Do not be deceived by the wide expanse of forbearance.
بِسَاطٍ — expanse. A noun, literally 'spread/carpet' used here for an expanse, in the 'of'-style ending because the preceding chain governs it, and itself heading a further 'of' link with the next word. So it sits mid-chain, owned by 'the wideness of' before it and owning 'the forbearance' after it, the metaphor stacking noun upon noun.
