Arabic vocabulary
How to say “fall” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمَنْ صَرَعَ جُنْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ صَرَعَ الشَّيْطَانَ
And whoever is struck down by the troops of Satan is struck down by Satan.
صَرْعٍ — being felled. A verbal noun, the name of the action of felling itself rather than a finished verb. Arabic uses such action-nouns to talk about the deed in the abstract, and here it carries the 'being thrown down' idea into the conditional.
