Arabic vocabulary
How to say “strike down” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمَنْ صَرَعَ جُنْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ صَرَعَ الشَّيْطَانَ
And whoever is struck down by the troops of Satan is struck down by Satan.
صَرْعٍ — strikes down. The felling action-word repeated to drive the point home: being thrown by the troops is being thrown by their master. The repetition is rhetorical, restating the same idea at a higher level rather than adding a new event.
