Arabic vocabulary
How to say “fix” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فمنا من يصلح خباءه،
Some of us were fixing our tents.
يُصْلِحُ — were fixing. A present-tense verb, 'he mends', with the 'he' subject built into the form. The present shape paints the activity as ongoing at that moment in the past scene, which is why it reads as 'was mending'; Arabic uses the present to show action in progress regardless of the overall time frame.
