How to say “flame” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
جز فقد أطفأ نورك لهبي،
Run, for your light has extinguished my flame.
لَهَبِي — with my flame. The attached -i adds 'my', welding the possessor onto the noun. This is the object of the verb 'extinguished', so the whole word means 'my flame' and stands as the thing the action fell upon.
