Arabic vocabulary
How to say “fodder” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَعَلْفُ رَاحِلَتَيْنِ كَانَتَا عِنْدَهُ
And the fodder for two mounts was with him.
وَعَلْفُ — and the fodder. The wa- resumes the narration with a fresh detail, 'and', riding on a noun rather than a verb here. That noun is the front half of a possessive pair, glued to the next word, so it sets up 'fodder of (the two mounts)' with no separate 'of'.
