How to say “food” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَعَلَيْهَا طَعَامُهُ وَشَرَابُهُ
And on it were his food and his drink.
طَعَامُهُ — his food. This noun is fused with an attached masculine pronoun 'his', so one word means 'his food'. In this 'on it were X and Y' frame it is the thing said to be on the mount, and the suffix names its owner, the traveller.
