How to say “heat” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَنَالُنِي حَرُّهُ وَلَا يُؤْذِينِي دُخَانُهُ،
Its heat reaches me, and its smoke does not harm me.
حَرُّهُ — its heat. A noun with the possessor -hu ('its') fixed to its end, and it is the subject of the verb before it, the thing doing the reaching. The doubled middle consonant (shadda) is part of the root, not grammar. The -hu reaches back to the fire mentioned earlier, telling you whose heat is meant.
