How to say “heedless” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وكان من المغفلين من يخطب الجمعة،
Among the heedless was one who delivered the Friday sermon,
الْمُغَفَّلِينَ — the heedless. This is 'the heedless ones', a definite plural through 'al-', referring to a class of people. It takes the genitive ending because the preposition 'among' before it governs it into that case. It names the pool the sermon-giver belonged to. The plural shape is built into the word itself.
