How to say “his sins” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَرُبَّمَا قَوِيَتْ مَعْرِفَةُ عَالِمٍ مِنْهُمْ، وَتَفَاقَمَتْ ذُنُوبُهُ
Perhaps the knowledge of a scholar among them grew strong, while his sins worsened.
ذُنُوبُهُ — his sins. A plural noun with a 'his' suffix on the end, holding both 'sins' and their owner in one word. It is the subject of the verb just before it, which is why that verb wears its feminine ending. The 'his' reaches back to the scholar, pinning the worsening sins to him specifically.
