How to say “I ask for permission” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَى رَبِّي
Then I ask my Lord for permission.
فَأَسْتَأْذِنُ — then I ask for permission. The leading fa- marks consequence, and the verb is a present-tense form for a single speaker, 'I', built on an expanded 'seek/ask-for' pattern where added letters give the sense of seeking the action out, here asking leave. The 'I' is built in. It expects the one asked to follow in a prepositional phrase.
