Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I go on pilgrimage” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَحُجُّ كُلُّ سَنَةٍ،
And I go on pilgrimage every year.
وَأَحُجُّ — and I go on pilgrimage. The fused wa- is 'and', adding a third standing devotion to the list, on a present-tense verb with 'I' built in. The present here is habitual, 'I make pilgrimage (year on year)', a recurring practice rather than one trip. The wa- keeps piling the speaker's acts of worship onto the record.
