Arabic vocabulary
صَلَّيْتُ is how you say “I prayed” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
فَدَخَلْتُ فَصَلَّيْتُ،
So I entered, then I prayed.
فَصَلَّيْتُ — then I prayed. Again fa- ('then') chains this to the previous verb, and the verb 'prayed' carries the -tu marking 'I'. It coordinates with 'entered' as the next thing the speaker did, the subject again inside the verb.
