قَالَ بَقِيْتُ أَنَا وَأَنْتَ
He said, "I remain, you and I."
بَقِيتُ — I remain. A past verb 'remained/am left' with 'I' built in; though past in form, it states a continuing present state, 'I remain'. Arabic often uses this past 'remain' for a state still in force. The 'I' is inside the verb.
