Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I remain patient” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ لَمْ أَصْبِرْ
He said, and when he came I could not remain patient.
أَصْبِرْ — I remain patient. A present-tense verb of being patient with its 'I' subject built in, pulled into the clipped jussive shape by the 'lam' before it. The pairing makes it a negated past, 'I could not stay patient', the form shortened to mark that mood.
