How to say “I set out” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِنْطَلَقْتُ حَتَّى وَلَّيْتُ
So I set out until I turned away.
فَإِنْطَلَقْتُ — so I set out. The prefix fa- marks the next event ('so'), and the verb 'set out' carries a -tu ending fixing the doer as 'I'. The subject is inside the verb, so it reads 'so I set out'.
