Arabic vocabulary
How to say “ignorant person” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنَّهُ يُكَابِدُ مِئَةَ جَاهِلٍ
And that he struggles against a hundred ignorant people.
جَاهِل — ignorant person. This is the counted noun after 'a hundred', which Arabic keeps SINGULAR and in the (genitive) even though many are meant, the opposite of the English plural. So its singular shape is grammar, not a claim of one person. It names the kind of person the devil easily handles in droves.
