How to say “isolation” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَطَرِيقُهُمَا بِمَعْزِلٍ عَنْ سُنَنِ السَّلَفِ الصَّالِحِ،
And their path is apart from the practices of the pious predecessors,
بِمَعْزِلٍ — in isolation. A 'bi-' prefix fronts an indefinite noun to set up the predicate 'in isolation', stating where their path stands. The prefix governs the noun into the dependent form, and the bare, no-'the' shape keeps it general, an unspecified state of being apart.
