Arabic vocabulary
How to say “lashes” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالسِّيَاطُ لَا تُؤْلِمُ بَعْدَ انْقِضَائِهَا،
And the lashes do not hurt after they end.
وَالأَسْوَاطِ — and the lashes. This joins the linking 'and' to a definite plural naming the lashes; the 'and' chains to the prior simile. As a non-human plural it will take singular feminine agreement on its verb, an Arabic regularity.
