Arabic vocabulary
How to say “life” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنِّي لَأُجَنِّبُهُمْ سَلْوَتَهَا وَعَيْشَهَا
And indeed I do keep them away from its pleasures and its life.
وَعَيْشَهَا — and its life. The wa- on the front is 'and', joining this noun to the previous one so they share the same role, and -ha ('its') is fused to its end, again pointing back to the world. So one word coordinates a second item and marks it as belonging to the world. The pair together name what the people are kept from.
