Arabic vocabulary
How to say “like the tightening” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمُرُّ كَشَدِّ الرِّكَابِ،
And among them are those who pass like the tightening of the reins.
كَشَدِّ — like the tightening. The comparison particle ka- ('like') fused with the noun 'tightening', forming a simile in one word. The ka- sets up the likeness, and it forces the noun into the genitive ending. The noun then heads an 'of' link with 'the reins' next.
