Arabic vocabulary
How to say “listening to it” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلا يَتَحَاشَى مِنْ غَيْبَةٍ أَوْ سَمَاعِهَا،
and he does not avoid backbiting or listening to it.
سَمَاعِهَا — listening to it. A verbal noun ('the listening') with -ha ('it') attached, where the pronoun points back to the backbiting just named. Coordinated by the 'or' and still governed by the earlier 'from', it takes the 'of' (genitive) ending, adding 'or hearing it' as the second thing he fails to shun.
