How to say “liver” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
واها لفصاحتي شوت أكباد حسدتي فلا بطل الشوى،
Ah, my eloquence scorched the livers of my enviers, yet the hide was not consumed.
أَكْبَادَ — livers. This noun is the thing acted upon and sits in the object ending, and it is also the first half of a possessive pair. As the leading noun it leans on the next word to say livers of whom, forming a possessive unit with no separate 'of'.
