وَمَنَّتْهُ نَفْسُهُ أَبْيَنَ الْمُحَالِ
And his own self made the impossible appear more clearly to him.
وَمَنَّتْهُ — and made him to. The wa- opens with 'and'. The verb is past tense with the feminine -at ending and the object -hu ('him') fused on, 'made him fancy / lulled him'. The feminine ending agrees with the subject 'his self', named next. The 'him' is the man his own soul deceived.
