How to say “morning” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لا صبحك الله بخير
May God not grant you morning with good.
صَبَّحَكَ — grant you morning. A past-tense verb in the intensive (doubled-middle) pattern meaning 'cause to reach morning', with 'you' attached as its object. Despite the past shape, after the negator it functions as an optative - 'may He not give you a good morning'. The 'you' suffix is the one whose morning is wished upon, and the verb names God (mentioned next) as the would-be giver.
