How to say “my foot” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَلَمَّا أَحَسَّ بِهَمْسِ قَدَمِيِ،
So when he felt the light brush of my foot,
قَدَمِيِ — my foot. A noun closed by '-i' (my), the owning half of the 'of' pairing with the possessor glued to its end. The suffix ties the foot to the speaker, so 'the brush of my foot' is completed by adjacency, the foot being whose faint sound was felt.
